So after a couple years of my previous flash website, I decided to go minimal again. I learned a LOT of lessons this time. I spent a tiny fraction of a fraction of the money on this site and even used a template. I’ve learned that ultimately, clients don’t care about your bells and whistles on your site. They only care about seeing your work and seeing it quickly. They also want to be able to view it on iPhones and iPads when they’re away from the office, which this website showcases beautifully on.

I also added everything else to the site, including information about Help-Portrait, my LifeFinder DVD, Voices of Haiti, my books and included several videos throughout the website. I was worried that this might turn some clients away for various reasons but it hasn’t had any effects but positive.

Overall, I’m an extremely happy camper. I NEVER thought I would say this but I highly recommend that photographers save their money and go with easy, cheap website templates. Let me just repeat myself. I NEVER thought I would say that. But remember, it’s about your photographs, not your website. Invest your money in gear, not a fancy website.

So without further ado, here tis…
